In which language should I receive therapy and coaching?
The short answer: Your native language. The second choice is if you have a second language that you use almost daily or have used almost daily for years.
For a range of therapeutical techniques for changing your subconscious to be effective or apply, they have to be delivered in the language of YOUR subconscious.. Secondly, the therapist most master the language on a very high level to construct complex changes of the language in your subconscious. That takes a native speaker.
For the rest of the therapy the language match have to be high enough for you and the therapist to carve out precisely in words what is in and on your mind and heart. That takes some degree of proficiency on both sides.
To the clients surprise we often find that Danish people who have spend a lot of time in an international environment or mixed families respond better to English in parts of the therapy. They often “ think “ in English”. So we often end up doing parts of the therapy in English and parts in Danish.
Hence therapy in your native language or the language you “think” and feel in - is recommended.
Secondarily a language you are highly proficient in.
We highly recommend that you choose a therapist or coach that have a native level of proficiency in one of those two language: your native or second language.
We currently have native speaking therapists in:
-
English(UK)
-
Danish

Our English language skills
One of our psychotherapists and executive coaches have a native level of proficiency in English – and of course the papers to show it. He has a C2 proficiency certification (former Cambridge proficiency(CPE) with the highest mark.
The C2 certification applies to both a scholar, business and a more private sensitive settings.
Thisis what Cambridge University Assessment says about the C2 certification.
“A C2 Proficiency qualification shows the world that you have mastered English to an exceptional level. It proves you can communicate with the fluency and sophistication of a highly competent English speaker.
Preparing for and passing the exam means you have the level of English that’s needed to study or work in a very senior professional or academic environment, for example on a postgraduate or PhD programme.”
“A C2 Proficiency qualification shows that you can:
-
study demanding subjects at the highest level, including postgraduate and PhD programmes
-
negotiate and persuade effectively at senior management level in international business settings
-
understand the main ideas of complex pieces of writing
-
talk about complex or sensitive issues, and deal confidently with difficult questions. “
